My Top 5 Music Videos

One of my favourite songs is radioactive by imagine dragons because I love the style and flow of the song but I also do enjoy the music video as it has many juxtapositions within it such as toys and generally family friendly items being torn to shreds and being demonised by evil making a very clear example of contrasting examples. The whole music video is full of many random elements and is just full of fun and enjoyment as lots of crazy things such as toys being denoted in an arena fighting against each other, which has many connotations but a main reason is for a crazy enjoyable user experience.

Another favourite songs for is Ed Sheerans 'Castle on the hill'. I find this song very enjoyable and nostalgic for me to listen as the song reminds me of past events that I find very fun and enjoyable especially during the parts of the song where he mentions his childhood. What I do like in particular of music video for this song it that it depicts and creates moments that many people go through when they grow up such as friends from when they were younger having a more harsh life as they get older such as drugs and divorces which is juxtaposition from when they were younger. The use of many camera languages and editing styles help enhance this experience much more making it a much more enjoyable. The story of the music video makes it much more of an emotional experience because during his Childhood he had made many friends and many of them have dissolved and only at the end during their adulthood only a couple of them remain as a former shells as they used to be.

Another favorite of mine is 'Light it up' by Major Lazer and as much I find this song very enjoyable to listen to the music video to me has much more meaning and depth to it with the song as denoted during the song there are many various types of characters that are dancing that are made and shaped in many different ways such as strings, disks and other materials and I find this very interesting as it connotes many different types of personalities of people and how different people are represented in their different physical forms which directly relate their inner personalities. The style of how the video is made and produced makes it seem how people from any different social backgrounds such as nationalities, religion and many other ethnic backgrounds can be work together to have a much more peaceful and enjoyable world.

Another one of my favourites is believer by imagine dragons and the music perfectly fits with the style of the music video by the intense music beat drops and thuds while two characters are fighting and boxing which compliments the lyrics. What also stands out of the video is the editing and style of the video with lots of effects and vibrancy of the colour grading giving it a much more mythic-ally and intense view of the video as red connotes anger and there is lots of fighting and the video gives of a sense of competition vibe and the lyrics which keep repeating 'Believer' which could also signify to keep going at your skills and passions and you'll succeed linking to the guys fighting to keep him the sense of confidence to keep going and winning.

Finally for my last favourite music video is 'Starboy' by TheWeekend. What I particular like from this video is the gangster dark vibe feel to it. For example during the first 30seconds of the music video is what appears to be a torture scene of a guy who eventually is killed and the murder(TheWeekend) goes around terrorising the place with a Christian cross symbolising how he may defy religion and wants to rebel against it which is a juxtaposition. The lyrics and beat of the music is also related to the video as has a sense of a dark mysterious sound to it which has a lots of echo's in it which can connote that he's a sly shadowy figure that wants to remain hidden which would make sense as he wears lots of black clothing and has a black car etc, and red is the only colour that stands out which could represent his angry and distrust in society.
